Community Vision:
All people are independent and have the means to care and provide for themselves and/or their familes. United Way of Mid-Maine will achieve its vision through coordination and collaboration of services in Mid-Maine.

The Promoting Independence Team works to reach the following results in our community:

older adults living in isolations are identified and assisted to remain independent
-
available resources, such as 211, are known and accessed
-
self-sufficiency is promoted through on-going communication and education
-
basic needs and safety issues for older adults are addressed
-
employment skills training is available
-
employment barriers are addressed and reduced
-
greater independence for all populations is supported
-
financial stability is supported
